About Me

My name is Andrea Luk and I am an undergraduate majoring in Psychology and minoring in Education in Boston University. In spring of 2011, I was given the opportunity to work with Ms. Yardley’s kindergarten students in Harrington Elementary School.

About the Website

“All About Eggs and Chicks” is a supplementary website to Ms. Yardley’s lessons on a chicken’s life cycle. Because its intended audience is kindergarten students, the content is simple and straightforward. Through the use of interactive media such as videos, sound files, and pictures, “All about Eggs and Chicks” provides basic information on a chicken’s life cycle, major characteristics of an egg and chicken, and other animals that lay eggs.

The purpose of this website is to help students understand that:
  1. Animals are living things, and some hatch from eggs;
  2. Eggs come in different sizes, shapes, textures, and colors;
  3. Certain conditions are needed in order for chick embryos to develop and hatch, and
  4. Chickens have a predictable sequence of growth (life cycle).
